Based on the concept of a VIP room, the Skin Like Baby clinic aims to provide a unique experience for women seeking aesthetic treatments. Unlike traditional clinic designs, this space goes beyond functionality and embraces the idea of a women's aesthetic salon. Through its design, the clinic aims to convey its mission and goals, with beauty as the ultimate result. The space offers a five-senses service that combines fine medical attention with a luxurious ambiance.
The clinic features a stunning entrance hall with jewel-like blue-purple Brazilian marble and a terrazzo floor with brass and golden gravel textures. The ripples reflected from the floor resemble the serene lake in Monet's paintings. As visitors pass through an arch, they are greeted by a large area adorned with mysterious purple flowers. The design pairs these floral elements with a nude color palette symbolizing baby's skin and coral-like pink walls resembling a blush that flows with light. The harmonious combination of colors creates an ambiance that transports visitors to a quiet, female-centric medical space akin to a secret garden.
The space is divided by classical painted trims, representing the graceful curves of a female figure. The five-arched shape gently separates the functional areas while subtly connecting them into a cohesive world. This design technique deconstructs different depths of field, reminiscent of the natural barriers formed by plants in a garden. The resulting visual effect exudes an elegant and charming atmosphere.
The Skin Like Baby clinic, located in Taipei, Taiwan, was completed between February and July 2018. The project presented several challenges, including the integration of classical elements with modern-style furniture and vital decorations. The result is a modern aesthetic salon that seamlessly blends classicism with contemporary design.
This outstanding design has been recognized with the Bronze A' Design Award in the Interior Space, Retail, and Exhibition Design category in 2020.
